Produce Longer Food Each Time with a Vacuum Drawer from Miele

“It is an enhanced way of cooking”

The ways the vacuum drawer works is pretty impressive but very simple. The air (oxygen) is sucked out of the film bags in which the food items are stored, and then they are sealed so that they are airtight. Although this type of cooking is used in commercial kitchen’s known as sous-vide, Miele is bringing this type of cooking home to the home chef. It ensures that meals maintain their flavour and moisture perfectly. Sous-vide comes from France and means “cooking under vacuum”. This ideal cooking method is perfect for meat, fish, vegetables or fruit. Due to the low cooking temperatures, the cooking times are longer than with a normal steam combination oven.

Sous-vide cooking method…

People that know about the sous-vide cooking method, happily accept the longer cooking time. The advantage of this cooking process lies in the evenness of the cooking. The aim is to achieve a specific core temperature. The food can be vacuumed with spices or a marinade, for a burst of flavour.

Particularly tender meat…

The meat is cooked very slowly at a low temperature for a juicy and tender taste. This is a gentle form of cooking, where the meat cells relax without loosing their juices. Now this sounds perfect! You will never overcook your food, overcooking is a thing of the past with a vacuum drawer from Miele.

The Miele vacuuming drawer is a versatile built-in appliance, with a range of applications. Prepare your food, by dividing into portions, store them and then prepare for an enjoyable cooking experience.
