Granite worktops UK
Granite is a natural igneous stone, quarried in large blocks and cut into slabs. Its crystals, flecks and movement are formed over millions of years, so no two kitchens look quite the same.
It is a hard-wearing choice for kitchen worktops, islands, breakfast bars, upstands and splashbacks. Our team helps you plan slab layout, joins, edge profiles and appliance cut-outs so the stone suits both your kitchen and the way you use it.
Each slab has its own colour, grain and character.
A dense, durable stone that suits busy family kitchens.
Handles everyday warmth well; we still recommend trivets.
Templated, fabricated and installed by Rock & Co.

Planning your budget
Your quotation depends on the stone you choose, how many slabs are needed, thickness and worktop dimensions. Sink and hob cut-outs, drainer grooves, edge profiles, upstands and splashbacks, access and installation requirements also affect the total.
Send your kitchen plan or approximate measurements, your preferred granite and your project postcode. We will then discuss the details needed for an accurate, made-to-measure quotation.
From slab to final fit
Compare granite samples at our Stevenage showroom and, where possible, view the full slab.
We confirm layout, joins and finishing details, then laser-template once your kitchen is fitted.

Before you order
Granite varies naturally, even within one named colour. A small sample shows the general tone and grain, but the full slab reveals the overall movement, mineral markings and where joins will fall.
Agree thickness, finish, edge profile, joins, sink and hob models, island overhangs and supports before fabrication. We offer a choice of finishes: polished granite reflects light and deepens the colour, while honed and leathered finishes give a softer, lower-sheen look. Finish options vary by stone, so ask us what suits your chosen granite.
Granite worktop questions
It depends on the stone. Some granites are dense enough to need little or no sealing, while lighter and more porous stones benefit from a sealer. We will advise on the right care for the granite you choose.
Granite copes well with everyday kitchen heat, but we still recommend a trivet or heat-resistant mat. Sudden, concentrated heat can stress any natural stone and its joins.
A sample shows the general colour and grain. Granite varies from slab to slab, so we recommend viewing the full slab where possible before fabrication.
Granite offers natural, one-of-a-kind patterns; quartz offers more consistent colour and very low maintenance. Our quartz versus granite guide compares both in detail.
