Quartz surfaces are also called many different names, composite stones, engineered stones and man made stones. Quartz surfaces are made up of 93% quartz, which is also the natural mineral that gives Granite it’s hardness. The remaining 7% is a safe but strong glue which binds the quartz crystals together. The mixture of quartz and glue is put under heat and pressure to create a quartz surface.
